Arthur reached out to me after I posted to local groups, I think we shot for around 2 hours and I can't really tell you what we spoke about, because we covered so many topics in that time. I've left Arthur to write his own piece, as I often feel they can explain themselves far better than I ever could. You'll find it included below.
I am very lucky to be making my living both as a poet and an actor. I dislike many of the unwritten rules we give one another in this society, which I believe largely serve to distract us from our true selves. My priority in life is to never hide from that self, but rather to ask it difficult questions and make some attempt to answer them.. to be true in every aspect of my life. It is amusing how difficult this is, and how easily nature does it. An oak tree, for example, doesn’t spend a lifetime concerning itself about how to be authentic, an oak tree simply ‘oaks’.
